Dr. James DAgostino graduated Doctor of Laws in 2003, obtaining his professional warrant in 2004. Whilst working in the private sector, James practised primarily in litigation in civil, criminal and commercial law cases, and also practised in the gaming sector.

After joining the Office of the State Advocate in 2021 as a Senior Lawyer, James now heads a team of five lawyers, serving various Ministries and affiliated departments and entities. Now practising Civil, Constitutional and Administrative Law, James still uses his extensive experience in insurance and tort matters, inter alia supervising and leading motor collision cases in Court.

James is Malta’s representative on the European Committee on Legal Co-Operation (CDCJ) of the Council of Europe and is also a registered Arbitrator with the Malta Arbitration Centre.
