Dr. Rachael Aquilina graduated from the University of Malta with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) in 2018 and a Master of Advocacy in 2019. In December 2018, Rachael was awarded the Dean’s award for the best performance in the term paper in the LLB (Hons) course. She went on to obtain a LLM in Commercial and Corporate Law from Queen Mary University, London in 2020 and was admitted to the Maltese bar in March 2020.

Following several internships in the private sector, both in Malta and in London, Rachael joined the Office of the State Advocate in September 2020. Her main areas of practice include civil litigation as well as human rights, European and administrative law, in which regard she advises and represents various Ministries, Government departments and entities before the Maltese courts and administrative tribunals.
