Dr. Anthony Borg obtained his Doctor of Laws (LL.D) degree from the University of Malta in 2015. He obtained his professional warrant in 2016, shortly after joining the Civil Section of the Office of the Attorney General (now the Office of the State Advocate) that same year.
Anthony’s main areas of focus include legal drafting, administrative and constitutional litigation, and he advises several Ministries and affiliated departments particularly in the fields of foreign and European affairs, energy, sustainable development and data protection. He has appeared before the Maltese Superior Courts and the Gozo Courts as well as various Boards and Tribunals. He has also represented Malta at the Council of the European Union in various working groups, attended expert groups organised by the European Commission and participated in meetings organised by the Fundamental Rights Agency of the European Union and the United Nations.
